English Language Classes
LINC Classes at Cumberland College
Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) is an English language training program funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada. These classes are free of charge for most newcomers. To find out if you are eligible for free LINC classes please contact our office.

In order to register for class you need to have had a CLB (Canadian Language Benchmark) Assessment within the last 12 months. To book a CLB Assessment with an English assessor please contact our office.

There are currently no LINC classes in Northeast Saskatchewan due to summer break. Classes will most likely resume in September 2014.

LINC Home Study Program
LINC Home Study program provides free distance education for eligible newcomers to Canada who cannot attend LINC classes in person. Students choose between online (computer with internet access) or correspondence (books and CDs) learning options and study independently from home. Certified instructors conduct weekly one-on-one lessons with students using telephone or VoIP (Voice-over-the-phone). Students complete assignments and receive on-going support and feedback on progress.
